Primary School
At SVR CHINMAYA SCHOOL, our Primary curriculum serves as a bridge to build upon the foundational knowledge acquired in the earlier years. We believe in an enriched educational approach that caters to diverse learning styles and intelligences. Our curriculum not only focuses on imparting subject knowledge but also emphasizes the development of essential skills, nurturing multiple intelligences and individual talents.
Understanding that each child possesses a unique set of intelligences, we've
designed our lesson plans to encompass the theory of multiple intelligences
put forth by Howard Gardner. Lessons are thoughtfully crafted to incorporate
activities and teaching methodologies that resonate with eight different
intelligences:
Linguistic Intelligence
Activities involve reading, writing, storytelling, debates, and discussions to cater to language-oriented learners.
Logical-Mathematical Intelligence
Lessons include problem-solving, experiments, puzzles, and mathematical challenges to engage analytical and logical thinkers.
Visual-Spatial Intelligence
Visual aids, art, drawing, diagrams, and spatial reasoning activities are integrated to support learners who excel in this area.
Musical Intelligence
Opportunities for music, rhythm, songs, and auditory learning methods are provided to engage students with musical inclinations.
Bodily-Kinaesthetic Intelligence
Incorporating movement, hands-on experiments, role-plays, and physical activities to engage students who learn through body movement.
Interpersonal Intelligence
Group discussions, teamwork, collaborative projects, and peer learning activities foster social intelligence and interpersonal skills.
Naturalistic Intelligence
Integrating nature-based learning, outdoor activities, gardening, and environmental studies to connect with the natural world.
By employing diverse teaching methods and activities aligned with these multiple intelligences, we aim to create a rich and inclusive learning environment that encourages every student to excel, fostering not only academic success but also personal growth and self-discovery.
